Bachelor in Paradise’s Apollo Jackson says he remains friends with Sophie Monk

QUEENSLAND singer and magician Apollo Jackson has ruled out pursuing a romance with Sophie Monk following her split from Stu Laundy – and says he done with dating shows after filming Bachelor in Paradise.

APOLLO JACKSON has ruled out pursuing a romance with Sophie Monk following her split from Stu Laundy.

The Gold Coast singer and magician, who finished third on Monk’s season of The Bachelorette, said the pair had developed “a really nice relationship as friends”.

“That’s where things ended up and that’s really nice and I think that’s where they’ll stay,” said Jackson, who is the special guest at Sofitel Girls’ Day Out at Brisbane’s Doomben Racecourse on Saturday.

Jackson, 25, will appear on Channel 10’ upcoming spin-off Bachelor in Paradise and while he admitted there were at least three couples dating from the show, he was tight-lipped about his own relationship status.

Of the experience filming in Fiji, he said: “It was more relaxed, more of a real world dating thing because you’ve got 24 hours a day so if you go on a date and you like someone you can spend the next 12 hours getting to know them and wake up and have breakfast with them the next morning, so you get to know people really well.

“There is (competition) so you do have to put your best foot forward, which isn’t easy sometimes.”

Jackson, who is recording an album next week, said he was done with dating shows and was looking forward to a normal life.

“You’re not supposed to publicly date anyone until the show is finished airing ... so I might have ended up with someone but if you don’t it’s hard because you can’t get out there.”
