Bachelor in Paradise: Sex on the cards in new series

TWO contestants on the new series of the Bachelor have revealed sex was definitely on the cards and were blown away by the number of condoms on set.

FANS are about to see a raunchier side of their favourite Bachelors and Bachelorettes.

Channel 10’s latest foray into the Bachelor franchise, Bachelor in Paradise starts Sunday night and centres on male and female contestants from previous seasons of the popular shows, who come together on a tropical Fijian island to vie for another chance to find love.

But love isn’t the only thing on their minds.

Brisbane’s Michael Turnbull and the Gold Coast’s Apollo Jackson told Confidential that sex was on the cards for those who wanted it.

“I turned up to my little bungalow and there was a basket of 50-100 condoms,” Turnbull said. “Those are not rookie numbers, they’re big numbers.”

But Turnbull, who was runner-up on Sam Frost’s season of The Bachelorette, revealed there was no privacy in paradise.

“There were cameras in the rooms so if you felt cool getting down and dirty with a camera watching you, you could go for it,” he said.

“There’s infra-red stuff there, there’s no hiding – producers are going to watch you get it on.”

Both Jackson, who was a firm fan favourite on Sophie Monk’s season of The Bachelorette, and Turnbull said they went into the show with “no rules” when it came to physical intimacy.

“You can try and make things (rules) in your head but if you’re having a really good time with someone, you know, you probably want to get a little bit cuddly with them,” Jackson said.

But the duo said contestants had to seek permission from producers before stripping down with prospective partners.

“It’s a consent thing, a legal thing,” Jackson said.

For Turnbull, his second shot at the franchise was about “having fun first and foremost”, but he said he was open to finding love.

“I feel like if you’re having fun, that’s when a special connection with someone is going to happen,” the 37-year-old told Confidential.

“I was one of the oldest guys in paradise, I was the dad of the boys. So if I found the one, I’m definitely in the situation where I do want to settle down and do the serious relationship stuff.”
