Aurora Iler is Qld’s answer to Millie Bobby Brown

She might only be 11 years old, but like fellow Queenslander Margot Robbie, Aurora Iler is heading straight for Hollywood.

Move over Margot Robbie, this bright Queensland star is heading straight for Hollywood, and she’s only 11 years old.

Aurora Iler has been hustling for more than two years to achieve her dream of becoming a famous actor.

“When I’m in front of the camera, I don’t feel uncomfortable,” she said.

“I feel like I’m ready to do anything, it really brings out the best in me.”

In her jam-packed career so far, the ambitious pre-teen has already been nominated for most outstanding performance by Griffith University in her first ever short film lead role.

She also just recently made the top 10 actors to be selected for the prestigious Carmen Duncan Scholarship, which helps teens and adults pursue acting in the US while representing Australia.

Even being allowed to apply for the scholarship was quite the achievement considering Aurora, who was 10 at the time, was well under the minimum application age of 12 years.

“We had already filmed the self-tape and we sent it in anyway just to see, and they were like ‘she’s amazing’,” she said.

“They said … the next Millie Bobby Brown.”

The next step in winning the scholarship is to get to the top three where she will be competing against fellow actors up to 18 years old.

“If I get it, it will just feel like I’m floating. It’s all my dreams coming true and all my hard work from acting coming together.”
