Alli Simpson shares ‘new lease on life’ after breaking her neck and testing positive for Covid

Gold Coast influencer and TV presenter Alli Simpson has shared shocking details after fracturing her neck in a swimming pool incident, saying it has left her in “endless tears”, but that’s not the only major issue that has struck her down in 2022.

Alli Simpson has experienced a “new lease on life” after breaking her neck and testing positive for Covid over the new year period.

The Gold Coast-based presenter posted a series of photos on her Instagram of herself in the back of an ambulance with a neck brace on.

“For me, 2022 is not off to a great start a broken neck (plus a positive Covid test) … long story short — I dove (sic) into a shallow pool head first & hit my head on the bottom,” she wrote in the caption.

Simpson, who formerly appeared on I’m a Celebrity and The Masked Singer, spent New Year’s Eve getting scans which found two severe fractures in her neck.

She didn’t require immediate surgery, but will have to spend the next four months in a hard neck brace, which she says is a small price to pay.

“I am EXTREMELY lucky to be alive and/or not quadriplegic as it JUST missed my spinal chord [sic],” she wrote.

Simpson, 23, said she had been in “endless tears” and was thanking the “guardian angels” watching over her when she dived into the pool.

“ … to say the least – I have a new lease on life & will be forever grateful that it was not worse!!”

She ended her heartfelt post with a warning to her followers to never dive into water without checking the depth.
