Kate Middleton’s uncle has publicly branded Prince Harry and Meghan Markle “muppets” in an expletive-laden online rant in which he told them to “shut up”.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s maternal uncle Gary Goldsmith criticised the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in a rant on networking site LinkedIn, ordering them “shut the F up” and describing them as “muppets craving attention”.

In the now-deleted post, Goldsmith said: “With so much stuff going on in the world, still these two muppets are craving attention”.

“Please shut the F up and bring up their child and stop talking, let alone demanding,” he wrote.

“Now hush please we are kinda busy saving lives and an economy,” he said, according to Page Six.

Goldsmith is the 55-year-old brother of Kate’s mother, Carole Middleton. He claims Harry and Megham didn’t “give a damn” about the royal family or they wouldn’t have “abdicated” the UK for the US after Megxit.

“We’ve all had enough of them lecturing us,” he said.

Of course, his expletive-laden online rant came as his niece, Kate, and nephew-in-law Prince William are in the midst of a feud with Meghan and Harry, over a string of family issues include their Megixt from the royal family.

It came as Kate and Wills’ two-year-old, Prince Louis, managed to get Sir David Attenborough to admit he likes dogs better than cats, a heartwarming video released on Sunday revealed.

Prince Louis asked the naturalist which animal he liked, as part of a chat along with his brother Prince George, 7, and Princess Charlotte, 5 that was filmed at Kensington Palace.

And while Sir David has been interviewed hundreds of times, the question almost stumped him.

“Which would you choose, a puppy or a kitten? It’s a very difficult question. I think I’d go with a puppy,” he said.

However, he said his favourite animal in the wild was a monkey, but accepted that it wasn’t an animal you could have at home.

Sir David, 94, set a world record of gaining 1 million followers on Instagram in under five hours as he promoted his new movie, A Life on Our Planet, which is now in cinemas and was made available on Netflix on Sunday.

He visited Kensington Palace last month as part of that tour and the video is the latest push for the film, which Prince William has supported.

Sir David gave Prince George a 23-million year old fossilised giant shark’s tooth during the visit, which he found in Malta.

The Mediterranean island country asked for it back briefly, but relented and allowed the young prince to keep it.

Prince George asked Sir David which animal he thought would become extinct next.

“Well let’s hope there won’t be any, because there are a lot of things we can do when animals are in danger of extinction. We can protect them,” Sir David said.

“About 40 years ago, I was with some mountain gorillas in the centre of Africa.

“Mountain gorillas were then very rare, there were only 250 of them left, and we showed pictures of them on television, and people thought how terrible it would be if these became extinct.

“So they subscribed lots of money and lots of people came to help, and now there are over a thousand of them.

“So you can save an animal if you want to and put your mind to it, people around the world around the world are doing that, because animals are so precious – so let’s hope there won’t be any more that will go extinct.”

Princess Charlotte said she likes spiders, and asked the veteran nature commentator if he liked them too.

Sir David told her: “I love spiders, I’m so glad you like them. I think they’re wonderful things.

“Why is it that people are so frightened of them? I think it’s because they’ve actually got eight legs, which are much more than us, and if you’ve got eight legs you can move in any direction, so you can never be quite sure which way that spider’s going to go.

“He could go this way or that way … so people don’t like them, and they don’t like their hairy legs either.

“But spiders are so clever. Have you ever watched one trying to build its web? That is extraordinary.

“How does it make a circular web like that attached to trees at either side or bits of vegetation? How do they do it? Try and watch and see how they do it, it’s marvellous.”
