The 2024 Super Bowl was one for the history books, with Taylor Swift’s involvement taking America’s favourite sporting event to even greater heights.
Millions of the singing superstar’s fans tuned into the game between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium to watch Swift support her boyfriend Travis Kelce.
And it was truly a storybook ending, with Kelce’s Chiefs winning at the very last minute, prompting chaotic celebrations from his uber-famous girlfriend and her A-list entourage.
We also had Usher’s action-packed halftime show, an elite turnout of the world’s biggest stars and Swift downing a beer on the live cam.
3pm - TAYLOR’S FAVOURITE TEAM WINS
Chiefs are victorious!
And the moment we’ve all been waiting for, in scenes direct from a Hollywood movie, Swift rushed to the field and embraced Kelce, appearing in tears as she proudly kissed the football star.
Kelce first hugged his mother, Donna, before turning to Swift and saying, “Come here, girl.”
The duo - arguably the most famous couple in the world right now - then kissed without a care in the world for the dozens of cameras and millions of onlookers.
Onstage after the event, Kelce was clearly overwhelmed with excitement, belting out Viva Las Vegas and Fight For Your Right (To Party!) into the microphone as he held up the trophy.
“Chiefs kingdom!” he screamed.
“Ya’ll hear this, we been fighting for our right all day. How ‘bout a little, Viva Las Vegas, Viva Las Vegas!”
Cameras cut to Swift during Kelce’s extreme speech, who was seen holding back tears as she watched on.
2pm - Paul McCartney joins Swift squad
The star power in Swift’s VIP suite is off the charts.
Beatles legend Paul McCartney arrived in the family box - which was personally paid for by Kelce - as Swift introduced the music icon to family members.
While their unlikely friendship might seem super random, the pair interviewed one another for a Rolling Stone special back in 2020, and Swift revealed last year she has a handwritten note from McCartney which is displayed on her bathroom wall.

11.54am - Taylor skols beer on live cam
Swift expertly embraced being a camera-magnet during the Super Bowl, despite relentless commentary over the NFL capitalising too heavily on her presence.
When the stadium big screen showed the singer sitting in her suite, Swift proceeded to neck a full cup of beer.
She finished the drink in a matter of seconds, before slamming it on the table in front of her and laughing.
The moment was met with a mix of cheers and boos from the crowd.

It’s certainly a fitting initiation ahead of her journey to Australia in coming days.
10.50am - Who’s who in the Swift suite
Kelce has an army of family and friends sitting proudly in a $2.5 million suite he personally paid for.
Of course, Swift is there, alongside her A-list best friend Blake Lively and fellow singer Ice Spice, who brought along her music producer RIOTUSA as a plus one.
Swift’s close friend and longtime stylist, Ashley Avignone, also scored an invite.
Top Gun: Maverick actor Miles Teller, who starred in Swift’s music video I Bet You Think About Me, was spotted at the back of the suite, alongside his wife and Swift’s friend Keleigh Teller.
Singer Lana Del Rey was initially seen sitting elsewhere in the stands, but later popped up in the Swift suite.
Mama and Papa Swift - Andrea and Scott - tagged along for the major occasion, as well as Swift’s brother Austin.
In the Kelce camp, the Chiefs tight end’s mother and father Donna and Ed are in the box, as well as his brother, Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kelce and wife Kylie.
Kelce’s childhood best friend Aric Jones, a designer who founded streetwear brand Homebred, sat next to Lively.
10.29am - Ready for kickoff
Minutes before the game got going, cameras flashed to Swift who was sharing a sweet moment with Lively, the two hugging and singing to America The Beautiful, which was performed live by Post Malone.
10.15am - Euphoric scenes as crowd embraces Taylor hits
Forget Eminem’s Lose Yourself being a pre-game anthem.
A video going viral on X shows hundreds of footy fans decked out in their Chiefs merchandise moshing to Love Story, Swift’s breakout 2008 song.
The Super Bowl DJ wholly understood today’s assignment:
8.35am - Swift arrives with girl squad
Swift arrived at Allegiant Stadium with Lively, Ice Spice and Avignone around two hours before showtime.
The Cruel Summer singer was wearing a black tank top with black jeans and boots, and of course, a Chiefs jacket.
She also honoured Kelce with her choice of jewellery, accessorising with a necklace featuring an ‘87’ pendant - Kelce’s jersey number.
Meanwhile, Lively went full ‘90s with a red-and-white tracksuit.
They were filmed walking into their plush suite, where Swift greeted Kelce’s brother, Jason Kelce.
This is Swift’s 13th time attending one of Kelce’s games, and as Swifties will know all too well, 13 has long been the singer’s favourite - and lucky - number.
Meanwhile, US sport broadcaster ESPN has all the important stats handy for its new cohort of viewers:
8am - Swift jets from Tokyo
The 14-time Grammy winner arrived in Las Vegas hours before boyfriend Kelce and the Chiefs look to defend their Super Bowl title against the 49ers.
She boarded her private jet from Tokyo, Japan, immediately after her fourth sold-out show in the city as part of her blockbuster Eras Tour.
“Taylor Swift is in Las Vegas,” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported on Sunday afternoon, local time.
“She has made it. Taylor Swift is here; she has flown from Tokyo, where she had a concert, to LAX, to Vegas. She is in the city and is expected to be at the game at a suite to be determined. That’s all I have to say about that. I’ll never report bigger news today.”
Earlier, Kelce was seen arriving at the ground and he looked well and truly in game mode:
7.30am – Kelce’s $2.5 million move at Super Bowl
Number 87 has it covered.
The Kelce and Swift families are sitting together in the same Super Bowl suite — and the Kansas City Chiefs player is covering the tab.
Sources told TMZ that the singer’s parents, Andrea and Scott, her brother, Austin, and his girlfriend, Sydney, are going to sit with Kelce’s parents, Donna and Ed Kelce, his brother, Jason, and his sister-in-law, Kylie, during the big game in Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
Insiders at the Allegiant Stadium told TMZ that the suite costs more than $US1 million but the two-time Super Bowl champ is covering it all because he wants everyone to have a good time.
Earlier this week, Travis, 34, joked about how much money he was spending for the Super Bowl.
“I’m not really doing much different other than just counting how much money I’m spending on this damn Super Bowl for family and friends to come,” he told his brother, Jason, in Thursday’s episode of their podcast.
“Just making sure I’m on top of those finances and losing all this money,” the athlete, who is reportedly worth $30 million, quipped.
7am – Why Taylor wasn’t allowed to see Travis before Super Bowl
Taylor Swift returned to the United States on Saturday — ahead of the Super Bowl — but she didn’t rush to see her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
The pop icon, who was performing in Tokyo, Japan, this weekend, chose to return home to Los Angeles first.
It was a surprising move, but it was perhaps because of an alleged NFL ruling that prevents players from seeing their wives or girlfriends the night before a big game, reports TMZ.
Because of the alleged mandate, Swift spent Saturday night at her Los Angeles home and will make her way to Sin City to cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs later today.
The singer, 34, began her mad rush back to the United States after she wrapped up her final Eras Tour concert in Japan Saturday evening.
An hour after her show ended, journalists spied mini-vans arrive at Haneda Airport where “someone went inside the gate area as four to five people carrying large black umbrellas obstructed the view of the person.”
She had to travel against several time zones to make it back for Super Bowl LVIII, where she is expected to sit in a VIP suite — that Kelce covered the tab for — with her parents, brother and his girlfriend as well as Kelce’s parents, brother and sister-in-law.
6.30am - Travis’ ex parties with rival WAGs
Kelce’s ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole may have subtly signaled that she’s rooting against her former boyfriend’s team during Sunday’s Super Bowl.
The model, who dated the football star before he jumped into his new romance with Swift, was seen partying with several San Francisco 49ers WAGs in Las Vegas Saturday night.
Nicole, 33, was joined by Claire Kittle, the wife of 49ers tight end George Kittle, and FOX Sports analyst Joy Taylor, along with other pals.
The group took what appeared to be tequila shots while out and about in Sin City the night before the big game.
“10/10 girlfriends,” the brunette beauty captioned the video on her Instagram Story.
The influencer previously distanced herself from the Chiefs family, including her close pals Patrick and his wife, Brittany, whom she unfollowed on social media.
Nicole was one of Brittany’s bridesmaids when she wed the star quarterback in 2022, but she later explained that unfollowing them was not a personal attack.
“That’s a lot of history and friendship there, that doesn’t change overnight,” she told People last year, noting that she still feels “love” for the pair.
“But publicly, because things are happening so quickly and so publicly, I have to protect myself. That’s really all that is,” she went on, referencing Kelce’s romance with Swift.
Overnight - Adele tells Swift haters to “get a f***ing life”
During her Las Vegas residency, Adele revealed who she’d be supporting at today’s Super Bowl.
The UK singer said she was torn between both the 49ers and the Chiefs, but ultimately, Swift’s allegiance to the latter had her on the Kansas City bandwagon.
“I want the 49ers to win but I also want the Chiefs to win. I think I want the Chiefs to win just because Taylor Swift goes for them,” Adele told the crowd.
“All of you that are complaining about Taylor Swift being at the games, get a f***ing life! It’s her f***ing man!”
Adele said Swift taking over the sport had made this season “a bit more enjoyable to watch.”
“Because I have no idea what’s going on,” she added.
