Selena Gomez is being accused of taking a swipe at her famous ex, and it has whipped her fans into an online frenzy.

Gomez, 31, famously dated singer Justin Bieber on/off for almost a decade and the couple finally called it off in early 2018, and by the end of the year, Bieber had married model and Alec Baldwin’s niece Hailey Baldwin.

Gomez’s relationship with Bieber was so culturally iconic that fans are constantly looking for clues that the singer could be referencing their past romance.

Gomez is pretty private these days but she’s currently promoting her new single, ‘Single Soon’, a pop banger about being single and she is sharing more online as a result.

In an effort to build hype for the new song Gomez took to TikTok to share the viral voice grab from Sex and the City where the character Samantha receives a call from a man who eagerly informs her he is leaving his wife for her.

Gomez posted the silly video and plenty of fans speculated that it was somehow a dig at married Bieber.

“The shade,” one commented.

“You know what you are doing, and we love you!” Another praised.

“Queen Behavior,” someone noted.

“This is about to break the internet,” one wrote.

“Justin Bieber,” another wrote.

“Please don’t apologise for this later,” a fan begged.

Of course, not everyone agrees that she was making a joke at her ex’s expense.

“You are going to get my girl in trouble for some innocent content,” one reasoned.

“It is just a sound she is using! Chill,” another defended.

Gomez and Bieber have been over for years but earlier this year Gomez went viral for getting in a public spat with his wife Hailey.

It all got very messy and complicated but basically fans accused Hailey of making fun of Gomez because she over laminated her eyebrows and relishing in the fact Selena was body-shamed over some photos of her in a bikini.

It’s all pretty icky stuff and it has ended in Selena commenting on a TikTok that called Hailey a “mean girl” with the words “I love you”, and then announcing she was going to take a break from social media.

Ultimately both released separate statements online and begged their fans not to send hate towards either one of them.

Gomez is now very much back online.
