Nicole Kidman has shared the first-look images of her new star-studded detective thriller.
Scarpetta, based on the best-selling Kay Scarpetta book series by US crime writer Patricia Cornwall, sees Kidman play a brilliant forensic pathologist who solves complex crimes.
Australian actor Simon Baker and US star Jamie Lee Curtis also appear in the Prime series, which premieres on March 11.
The show unfolds across two timelines — Scarpetta’s journey from her beginnings as a medical examiner in the late ’90s, to her present-day return to her hometown, where she resumes her former position.
Prime Video’s official synopsis reads: “[The series] follows Kay Scarpetta as she returns to Virginia and resumes her former position with complex relationships, both personal and professional – including her sister Dorothy (Curtis), with plenty of grudges and secrets to uncover.”
Kidman is also an executive producer for the show.
The Australian star, 58, will soon film another thriller series, Discretion, in which she plays a powerful corporate lawyer named Sharon.
Elle Fanning will join Kidman as Lenny, a summer associate who uncovers a dark truth at their Dallas law firm.
The show is expected to start production in 2026, and both actresses are also serving as executive producers.
It comes after Kidman hinted at her emotional struggles after she and Keith Urban ended their 19-year marriage.
The Babygirl actor shared an update on her wellbeing during a conversation with Ariana Grande for Interview Magazine published Monday.
“How are you?” Grande asked, to which Kidman replied, “I’m hanging in there.”
The Big Little Lies alum also shared that she felt “very safe” and “protected” while filming the sequel to her 1998 movie Practical Magic this summer — shortly before her break-up came to light.
“Sandy Bullock and I, and then Joey King and Maisie [Williams] — we had an incredible cast,” she shared of the new movie, adding that the project was “so fun.”
She then explained that filming movies is often not so fun because it can be emotionally draining.
“But I have such a strong relationship with all those women, so I felt protected and loved,” she said.
“It was just very, very safe.”
Kidman went on to reflect on how special it was to be able to reunite with Sandra Bullock to reprise their roles as sister witches.
“To come back to something so many years later and go, ‘We’re still able to get this movie made at a big studio like Warner’s,’ and that Sandy and I were able to produce it and get it made, is insane,” she said.
A source confirmed to Page Six in September that Kidman and Urban, also 58, were calling it quits after almost two decades of marriage.
“Sometimes relationships just run their course,” the source said at the time, adding that Kidman “did not want the separation and was trying to save things.”
They had reportedly been living separately since the beginning of the summer, with Kidman caring for their two kids, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14.
Kidman officially filed for divorce on Sept. 30 — shortly before speculation began swirling that Urban may have been romantically involved with his much-younger guitarist Maggie Baugh.
The actor is reportedly focusing her energy on making sure her daughters are okay.
“The last thing Nicole wanted was a broken family,” a source told the Sun, adding that her “focus [is] on creating new traditions with her daughters and keeping their home life as steady and loving as possible.”
