Reality stars Heidi Montag and husband Spencer Pratt have lost their home in the ongoing wildfire tearing through Los Angeles.
The US socialites, who shot to fame in 2006 on The Hills, occupied a hillside mansion in the up-market Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles, which is just one of the neighbourhoods devastated by four different fires causing destruction across the city.
Montag, 38, was inconsolable in a selfie video posted to social media, revealing her 2300 square foot home had been entirely gutted.
Purchased in 2017 for $US2.5 million, their family residence was at the heart of a blaze which was first reported Tuesday morning, local time, with the couple managing to evacuate safely with their two young sons.
Sharing a video on TikTok on Wednesday, local time, Montag struggled through tears as she informed her nearly 1 million followers of the news.
“I’m so sad our house is gone,” Montag began, as she sat on a couch with her one-year-old son, Ryker, who could be seen wiping her tears away.
The TV star was largely inaudible during the 40-second clip, struggling to get words out clearly.
Earlier, Montag posted a video from her car, sharing she was thankful their family escaped unharmed.
“Thank you for all your prayers, thank you for your thoughts,” she said.
“It’s … I have no words.”
Montag and Pratt had starred in the rebooted The Hills reunion series in 2019, The Hills: New Beginnings, in which they gave a tour of their beloved house.
The three-bedroom home, which New York Post reports was partly-financed by Pratt’s parents, was their nature sanctuary, the couple said, with Pratt revealing his love of hummingbirds, while Montag let viewers in on her abundant crystal collection.
The Pacific Palisades area is home to a flurry of celebrities, including Chris Pratt, Reese Witherspoon, Miles Teller and Ben Affleck.
Affleck was reportedly forced to evacuate from the $33 million mansion he purchased just five months ago following his split from Jennifer Lopez.
Affleck was seen fleeing his residence on Tuesday and driving to his ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s house in nearby Brentwood, per Page Six.
Married actors Adam Brody and Leighton Meester’s $5.8 million home has been destroyed, with Paris Hilton also reportedly losing her home in beachfront home in Malibu.
Meanwhile, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle may be forced to flee their $22 million home in California.
The couple and their two children, Prince Archie, 5 – and Princess Lilibet, 3 – live in the exclusive celebrity enclave of Montecito, just under two hours from Los Angeles, which a spokesman for Southern California Edison confirmed to the UK’s Telegraph is inside a “high fire risk” zone.
