Brisbane radio personality, Robin Bailey has confirmed she’s reunited with her Belgian boyfriend, Olivier Massart, just 18 days after sharing the news of their split.
The KIIS 97.3 breakfast host opened up about the rekindled romance on air this week, revealing to co-host Kip Wightman that she and Massart have decided to give their relationship another chance following a two-month break.
“I’m back with my boyfriend, Olivier, after a little two month hiatus while he sorted out his settlement and divorce,” she revealed.
The pair’s relationship blossomed in February, eventually going public in April when Bailey posted romantic snaps from their tropical getaway to New Caledonia.
However, on October 10, Bailey announced their split on air, citing the difficulties of dating someone navigating a legal separation.
“He is still trying to sort out his settlement and divorce, and I don’t feel like there’s a place for me in that right now,” Bailey had confessed, a decision she described as one made out of respect for all involved.
While Massart was reportedly separated from his ex when they first began dating, the emotional toll of his divorce had placed a strain on their relationship.
“He needs to come to me when he’s 100 per cent ready, and not with baggage that could potentially hurt our relationship,” Bailey previously explained.
With progress now reported in Massart’s settlement, Bailey appears ready to embrace a fresh start with him, though neither has confirmed if his divorce has been fully finalised.
Over the weekend, Bailey travelled to the Sunshine Coast for their first extended visit together since the split, bonding over their mutual love for outdoor activities.
“So this is the first time I’ve been up to his place on the sunny coast for a weekend. We just sort of haven’t seen each other,” she said.
“We went for a 10k run along the beach … then jumped on the bikes and did a 15k ride to Twin Waters. It was my ultimate (weekend),” she said.
Speculation about their reunion had been brewing among fans who spotted the pair at several events on Bailey’s Instagram last week.
This rekindling of romance brings a heartwarming chapter for Bailey, who has faced significant personal loss in the last decade, losing her husband Tony Smart to suicide in 2014, followed by the death of her partner Sean Pickwell from cancer in 2019.
