Students of Villanova College in Brisbane’s south have been filmed on TikTok lip-syncing to audio that contains ‘extremely misogynistic and offensive language’.
The footage, which was uploaded to the social media platform was swiftly removed but not without being brought to the attention of the college and an outraged school community.
The footage, which is too inappropriate to publish, contains Villanova students in uniform miming to the offensive and misogynistic audio.
The school is aware of the incident and has contacted the families of the students involved.
The college released a statement on Monday afternoon stating it was investigating the incident, taking the matter seriously and dealing with it ‘as a priority’.
Part of the statement released by principal Mark Stower reads: “The college is aware of inappropriate social media posts involving a small number of students.”
It continues: “We treat all such matters seriously and are dealing with what has occurred as a priority. The investigation is ongoing and the college has communicated with the families of the students involved.
“The actions of a small number of students do not reflect the college’s values or our teachings.”
