The rollout of term two public school report cards has been hit by a statewide technical glitch.

The Department of Education is investigating an issue with the report cards being sent to parents and caregivers via OneSchool - the software that schools use for reporting and administrative processes.

A Department of Education spokesman said Google had blocked email messages from OneSchool as if they were spam and they were working with the tech giant to have the issue resolved “as a matter of priority”.

It’s understood email accounts other than Gmail are not impacted.

The department alerted schools of the issue in a letter on Thursday after questions by The Courier-Mail.

“The department has been made aware that there is an issue with some end of semester student report cards being sent from OneSchool to parent/caregiver email accounts,” the letter to schools stated.

“Please be mindful if/when you are emailing report cards from OneSchool, this may mean some parents, depending on the email address recorded in OneSchool, may receive a report card, while other parents within the same family may not.”

The department says schools using the QParents app could direct parents and caregivers to access report cards there.

Earlier, Craigslea State School had sent an email to families after they received a number of emails report cards had not been received as scheduled.

“OneSchool have informed us that this is a statewide issue that they are working to correct,” the email to families read.

“We do not have a time frame of when this issue will be resolved yet.”
