Edens Landing State School informs parent of positive COVID-19 case

A Logan school has been exposed to COVID-19 with the principal advising parents late yesterday that a person had visited an after-hours care facility while infected.

Parents of students at Edens Landing State School have been advised that the school has been exposed to a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Principal Clint Curren late yesterday issued a letter to parents and all members of the school community advising of the incident.

“I have been asked to inform our community that a person associated with the school community has been diagnosed with COVID-19,” the letter read.

“This person visited the YMCA Outside School Hours Care service operating at our school on 27 August 2020.

“The Metro South Public Health Unit has assessed the risks to the school community and advised the Department of Education there is negligible risk to members of the school community and it is safe for students and staff to attend the school.”

The school will remain open to parents and students, but the after-hours care facility will be closed today for deep cleaning.
