Public Trustee of Queensland to relocate to 410 Ann St office tower by end of 2021-22

More than 370 public servants will be relocating next year with the Public Trustee of Queensland settling on its new headquarters after more than 45 years in the same tower.

WITH the imminent sale of its long-term Brisbane CBD headquarters the Public Trustee of Queensland has settled on its new its new base.

After more than 45 years at 444 Queen St, over 370 staff will be relocated by the end of this financial year to an office tower at 410 Ann St in what will be one of the biggest moves in the 105-year-old organisation’s history.

The Public Trustee and chief executive Samay Zhouand said there were some mixed emotions

leaving Trustee House.

“444 Queen Street holds almost 50 years of Public Trustee history and serving Queenslanders. However, I am pleased to announce the Public Trustee will be moving to 410 Ann St, in the Brisbane CBD,” he said.

The Public Trustee’s long-term headquarters went on the block in April for the first time.

The 23-level office tower is owned by Abacus Property Group (67 per cent) with the Public Trustee holding the remaining 33 per cent — or six floors — stake in the building.

The organisation went to the market this year with a 4000sq m requirement for a new headquarters.

Mr Zhouand said much consideration went into the decision about the move, although an exact date has not been finalised.

“This historical relocation is an important step to ensuring our customers are

provided with accessible and contemporary customer service centres that meet the

needs of Queenslanders,” he said.

“Our move is another part of our transformation journey, ensuring the Public Trustee

is a sustainable organisation that will be here to support Queenslanders for

generations to come.”
