Australia’s largest alcohol retail network is on a recruitment drive seeking more than 900 new employees across Queensland in time for the summer spending splurge.

Dan Murphy’s and BWS — which are part of the Endeavour Group — are seeking people to fill customer assistant roles in their shops.

Endeavour Group chief people officer Alison Merner said the majority of roles are casual with a minimum of 20 hours a week over summer.

“We have a wonderful team culture, and team members — including casuals — receive ongoing training and have access to great benefits including team discounts on drinks and groceries,” she said.

“We encourage people from all walks of life to apply — from university students to retirees. “We are looking for motivated people who are service-minded and have a keen interest in the world of drinks. We work with spirit and we’re team players and we expect the same from our team members, so if you bring the can-do attitude we will teach you the rest.”

Dan Murphy’s have started recruiting 400 new staff in Queensland with over 80 roles currently available in wider Brisbane, over 50 in Gold Coast, 40 in Sunshine Coast, 15 in Toowoomba, 20 in Logan, 25 in Ipswich, almost 30 in the Moreton Bay and 25 in Cairns.

BWS has about 500 positions available across its network from October.

Across Australia they are seeking to hire more than 4400 team members for summer.

BWS and Dan Murphy’s are part of Endeavour Group, which became Australia’s largest drinks and hospitality business after it split from Woolworths Group earlier this year.

“We offer great opportunities for career development within our stores and the wider business, and provide training programs for team members to help them grow with us. A casual role with us could be the start to a great career with Australia’s leading drinks and hospitality business,” Ms Merner said.

To be successful, applicants need to be at least 18 years of age, and have an extraordinary passion for customer service.

For those wishing to apply, the roles can be found on Endeavour Group’s career portal on Endeavourgroup.com.au
