Six tenants have signed up for the Yeerongpilly Green Riverside Village retail hub

THE centrepiece of the $850m Yeerongpilly Green development on Brisbane’s southside is filling up with six new retailers committing to the precinct which is scheduled to open mid to late next year.

The first stage of YG Riverside Village will have a modern-full line Woolworths supermarket spanning 11,600sq m, with one level of boutique offices, specialty retailers, a dining precinct and a major gym and wellness precinct in addition to secure basement carparking.

The new tenants who have signed on include a pharmacy (220sq m), BWS (149sq m), Jimmy Rod’s barber shop (56sq m), Jessica James Hair (67sq m), Lux Nail Bar & Co (76sq m) and Massage Inn (80sq m).

Yeerongpilly Green, which is a joint venture between Consolidated Properties Group, CVS Lane Capital Partners and the Queensland Government to turn 14ha of riverfront land into a major urban renewal project in Brisbane’s southside.

Consolidated Properties Group head of retail Kieran Cox said the new retailers offered a broad range of services to add to Woolworths.

“We call it YG Riverside Village because we want it to have a real community feel with residents able to visit their hairdresser, barber, bottle shop, massage shop and nail salon on site, and to know all the owners by name,” he said.

“One of the key things we want to deliver is significant retail amenity onsite to Yeerongpilly and surrounding residents.”

Construction of the BVN-designed retail centre was progressing well with the basement slab nearly complete. Hutchinson Builders have started pouring the first sections of the ground floor level, with the second level on track to start early in the New Year.

“We’re getting numerous inquiries from prospective tenants who want to get in on the ground floor of this new venture,” he said.

“YG Riverside Village is due to open mid-late 2023 and will provide a vital service to residents.”
