STRONG growth over the past two years has led to a fertility clinic to relocate to a new base in Brisbane’s inner east.
Life Fertility Clinic will move its operations from St Andrew’s Hospital, Spring Hill, to 1/36 Edmondstone Road, Bowen Hills, after purchasing the property for $7.6m.
The two-level building was occupied by Virgin Australia but was vacant for some time before it went on the market earlier this year just as COVID-19 hit.

Life Fertility Clinic medical director Dr Glenn Sterling said they were running out of space at St Andrews and will be able to consolidate their operations in Bowen Hills.
“The business has grown so much in the last two years so we just needed more space,” he said.
The modern 2158sq m building on a 2379sq m site has been fully refurbished in recent years. It has a mix of open plan and partitioned offices, well-appointed bathrooms, end-of-trip facilities, 29 car parks and upgraded security and technology features.
According to CoreLogic it last changed hands in 2012 for $10.5m.
Dr Sterling said they were aiming to be in the building by the end of March.
“We will fit-out around what’s already there. The facilities there are really good so there is not a hell of a lot to do with the biggest part being the laboratory,” he said.
“I’ve also solved the furniture issue because I’ve just bought back all the Virgin stuff that had been on sale at GraysOnline.”
The former Virgin Australia headquarters at 56 Edmondstone Road remains on the market.
JLL’s Tim Jones, who marketed the property with Andrew Havig and Sam Byrne, said the expressions of interest campaign initially generated strong interest from a range of owner-occupier.
“However, we suspended the campaign due to COVID-19 restrictions and the uncertainty that followed around when businesses would return to work in Queensland,” he said.
“Since businesses have been able to transition back to work we have seen buyer confidence return and this, coupled with the current low interest rate environment, has seen strong demand for quality owner-occupier opportunities.”
