Infinity pool, cinema and wine cellars included in Northshore Hamilton proposal

As a Brisbane high-rise precinct with more river frontage than the CBD and South Bank charges on, new plans for a 17-storey tower include some lavish drawcards.

Plans for the top two floors of the proposed complex at Northshore Hamilton include a “recreational deck” split over two-storeys, 60m above ground.

The deck will have an infinity pool, entertaining room, kitchen, bar and barbecue facilities with views of the city and river.

“Roof top terraces maximise views towards Brisbane River and the city,” the building’s design document says.

Floorplans also show the tower’s two penthouse apartments on the 16th floor with four bedrooms, a cinema room, indoor fireplace and wine cellar each.

There will also be room for eight retailers in the building’s lower levels.

The proposal on Macarthur Ave is the latest for the Northshore Hamilton development area.

Northshore Hamilton was declared a priority development area in 2008 and thus approval will for the proposal falls to the State Government, rather than Brisbane City Council.

The development area includes 3.8km of river frontage and allows towers up to 23 storeys high.

The area has attracted significant attention, with pizza chain Domino’s basing its headquarters at Northshore.

Documents show the 17-storey Portside East Building 17 will reach 69m into the sky with 51m of Brisbane River frontage.
