Brooklyn Beckham ridiculed over 'runny' homemade strawberry jam
The son of two very powerful A-listers has posted something new online … and some claim he has gone full Meghan Markle.
Brooklyn Beckham’s entrepreneurial spirit continues to live on, with the 26-year-old having a crack at making jam.
The eldest son of Victoria and David Beckham, who has been going viral for renewing his vows with his wife Nicola Peltz-Beckham without his parents in attendance, is at it again.
The 26-year-old, who the internet has dubbed ‘the ultimate nepo baby’ has debuted a new hobby and possible business venture.
Brooklyn’s various careers have become notorious as he isn’t afraid to change it up - and he has truly done a bit of everything.
He had a brief dalliance as a photographer, where he released a photography book and admitted that photographing elephants is hard.
He then tried his hand at being a chef, which included using an actual blowtorch to make a toasted cheese sandwich.
He even gave acting a crack, and was meant to have a cameo in his wife’s directorial debut, Lola, but ended up on the cutting room floor because she didn’t like the way he said the word “hi”.
Brooklyn has since turned to focusing on his hot-sauce line Cloud 23, and is now taking a page out of Meghan Markle’s playbook.
The 26-year-old is back from his European vacation and hanging out in the kitchen again, and without much explanation - although Brooklyn rarely offers context around his career decisions - he posted a video on Instagram showing him making jam.
“Let’s make some strawberry Jam,” he announced.
What followed was Brooklyn going through all the steps to make jam and then bottling it up. It is unclear whether he plans to sell it or if it is just a new hobby.
Regardless, social media was not impressed.
“Get a proper job that pays your lifestyle,” one follower recommended.
“Is this a joke?” someone else asked.
“I honestly taught my kids to do this when they were 10. It is fun, delicious, and it requires almost no skills,” another shared.
In general, people couldn’t help but make a Meghan Markle comparison, as she’s been slinging jam online since leaving the royal family.
“To think of all the opportunities this lad has had in life, and now he is doing a Meghan Markle,” one wrote.
“First Meghan, now you! What’s the obsession with strawberry jam? Anyone can make it,” someone else said.
“The new Meghan Markle,” another joked.
Meanwhile, other online commentators were more caught up in the quality of the strawberry jam he produced, claiming the consistency wasn’t right.
“Doesn’t look like jam to me, more like sauce,” one said.
“That is not jam or jelly! That is sauce,” someone else said.
Another chimed in and claimed it was too “runny” to be considered good jam.
