ASX live coverage: ASX 200 expected to rally after Wall Street gains

Welcome to the Trading Day blog for Monday, October 21 DATE. The ASX 200 is expected to gain after a sell-off on Friday.

ASX 200 futures are 0.5 per cent higher to 8365 points.

Friday on Wall Street saw the S&P 500 rise 0.4 per cent, the technology-focused Nasdaq Composite Index gain 0.6 per cent and the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 0.1 per cent higher.

US 10-year bond yields are sitting at 4.075 per cent.

Oil prices were last lower, with global benchmark Brent at $US73.06 per barrel and WTI Nymex trading at $US68.84 per barrel.

Gold futures are were higher to $US2736.40 per ounce.

The Aussie dollar is trading around US67.05c.
