Heavy mixed spice and cinnamon aroma. Soft, plenty of raisins and a slight tendency to doughiness. Very reasonably priced.

Dark brown with a good rise. There's a nicely rustic look to these buns and they're not too sweet or heavily spiced. Good fruit with plenty of citrus peel.

These buns are striking - a really deep saffron yellow with loads of spicy fragrance. The buns are pull-apart soft with lots of fruit and raisin inside. A very festive hot cross bun.
Alinga Street, Civic.

A plain, simple and unpretentious hot cross bun. Strong spice but not a huge amount of fruit. Again, very reasonably priced. Extra marks for the super friendly service when we bought them.

There's an almost Christmassy appeal to these hot cross buns – a cinnamon aroma mixed with citrus. The buns are with plenty of candied citrus peel. Lovely soft brown colour with perfect piping.

There's a slight vanilla or white chocolate hint to these buns. Very soft bun, quite sweet, with a lot of fruit inside.

A nicely brown set of hot cross buns. Points for being quite moist but fairly light on fruit compared to some of the others.
