Washington | Australian banks need to step up their game in the Pacific region to keep Chinese state financiers at bay, says Kurt Campbell, America’s second most senior diplomat.
Dr Campbell, the Biden administration’s outgoing deputy Secretary of State, also says president-elect Donald Trump will be just as keen to see Australia help with a “soft power” push in the region to limit Beijing’s influence.
