Trump’s attacks on Harvard make cutting a deal harder

The relentless war against the university’s leadership risks shifting broad concern for much-needed sector reform to defensiveness of the institution in the face of extreme retaliatory measures.

The Harvard v Donald Trump cage-match continues, with several rounds to go, in several different arenas, and no escape in sight.

At the time of publication – bearing in mind the speed of new developments – a federal judge has granted Harvard respite via a temporary restraining order that has effectively blocked the Trump administration’s revocation of international student visas, pending a hearing this week.
