Trump faces tough battle in ‘extremely damning indictment’
Divisions among Republicans are starting to emerge over support for the former president as the depth of the 49-page indictment against him becomes clear.
Washington | Donald Trump’s supporters have reacted furiously to former attorney-general William Barr’s conclusion of the former president as “toast” if criminal charges against him of mishandling classified documents are proved true.
Barr, who served under Trump, said the degree of sensitivity of the documents and the sheer number of them found in his Florida estate during an FBI search last year were shocking, concluding the former president was clearly “not a victim here”.
