Trudeau accuses India of assassination on Canadian soil
Ottawa | Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Monday (Tuesday AEST) that “agents of the government of India” carried out the assassination of a Sikh community leader in British Columbia in June, an explosive allegation that further sours relations between the two nations.
Speaking in the House of Commons, Mr Trudeau said he had raised India’s involvement in the shooting of Hardeep Singh Nijjar with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the G20 summit meeting earlier this month “in no uncertain terms.” He said the allegation was based on intelligence gathered by the Canadian government.
