Allentown, Pennsylvania | Signs of an unusually large turnout or young people and other first-time voters in all-important Pennsylvania on election day could augur well for Kamala Harris.

A spot survey of higher education students at a polling booth in Northampton County, the most marginal electorate in one of the most marginal states in the country, suggests many young people have been galvanised into action by Ms Harris’ promise of a new, more inclusive era in politics, and, more specifically, better protection of women’s reproductive rights.
