Berlin/Kyiv | Donald Trump said Vladimir Putin was not ready for an “immediate peace” in Ukraine after an hour-long conversation on Wednesday (Thursday AEST), during which the Russian president warned of retaliation for Kyiv’s drone attack on his country’s bomber fleet.
The US president said the call with Putin was “good”, covering both the fighting with Ukraine and ongoing negotiations with Iran over its nuclear program, but added that it was not a conversation that would lead to a breakthrough in peace talks with Kyiv.
