Washington | Donald Trump’s bold military parade to mark the army’s 250th year unfolded with the sort of precision you’d expect from the uniformed ranks of the world’s No. 1 superpower.

The US president stood and saluted frequently from his specially constructed viewing platform on the southern edge of the White House lawns as thousands of soldiers marched, tanks rumbled, and high-tech robot dogs trotted past. Even storms forecast after a steamy Washington day held off.
