America is in the grip of Kamala-mania. Irrational enthusiasm for Kamala Harris has suddenly swept the country.

For observers down under, the last-minute candidate switch and ensuing love-fest might seem oddly familiar. It is like watching the knock-off version of The Office without Ricky Gervais. Have we seen this movie before? Yes. It is an American rerun of Jacinda-mania in New Zealand, circa 2017.
