Insurers’ Hurricane Helene loss estimates leap to more than $20b
Estimates for insured losses from Hurricane Helene have climbed to as much as $US14 billion ($20 billion), even as insurers prepare for more devastation from Hurricane Milton.
Private market insured loss estimates from Hurricane Helene range from $US8 billion to $US14 billion, with the best estimate around $US11 billion, according to Moody’s RMS Event Response. That’s higher than the $US6.4 billion estimated by firm Karen Clark & Co last week.
