Washington | Donald Trump will be charged with making hush money payments to a porn star in the first-ever criminal case against a former US president, deepening divisions in American politics and potentially recharging his campaign for the White House in 2024.
A Manhattan grand jury has voted to indict Mr Trump following a years-long investigation over the payments to actress Stormy Daniels during his 2016 presidential campaign to silence claims of a sexual encounter.
