Democrat Warnock declared winner in Senate run-off
AP calls Warnock victory
The Associated Press says Democrats have won at least one of the two Georgia Senate seats.
Democratic candidate Raphael Warnock is now more than 40,000 votes ahead of Republican Kelly Loeffler, with 50.5 per cent of the vote against the Republican incumbent's 49.5.
Warnock earlier essentially claimed victory in a televised address earlier in which he said "I am going to the Senate to work for all of Georgia".
Major news networks CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC have also called the election for Warnock.
AP says that the race between Republican David Perdue and Democrat Jon Ossoff is still too close to call.
Democrats need to win both contests to take the Senate.
