Biden vows to fight for democracy, hit inflation
Washington| President Joe Biden vowed to protect democracy by fighting against Russian aggression in Ukraine, and tame soaring US inflation, in his first State of the Union speech that addressed the two biggest risks to his political standing.
Addressing a joint sitting of Congress, a cautious Mr Biden said tensions over Russia were a “battle between democracy and autocracy” that would heap further costs on people around the world. He implored America to stand united and ready for the challenge.
