Washington | President Joe Biden has decided to name Federal Reserve vice chairman Lael Brainard as his top economic adviser, with an announcement expected to come this week, people familiar with the matter say.
In addition, Jared Bernstein, a member of the Council of Economic Advisers, is considered likely to be named its chairman, replacing Cecilia Rouse, who is returning to academia.
