Washington | Joe Biden pleaded with Congress to urgently approve more funds for the Ukrainian army after a spending package cobbled together to avert a US government shutdown dramatically cut off support.
The US president, speaking in the White House Roosevelt Room on Sunday (Monday AEDT), said Ukrainians would “die needlessly” if funding was allowed to run dry from mid-November.
