Biden expresses relief at Chauvin verdict in prime-time address
Washington/New York | Joe Biden said he hoped the murder conviction of Derek Chauvin would serve as a “giant step” towards racial justice in America as he used a prime-time national address to express relief at the guilty verdict.
In a speech at the White House on Tuesday evening (Wednesday AEST), the US President said the outcome of the trial had the potential to be a “moment of significant change” and called on Congress to pass federal policing reform in George Floyd’s memory.
