Washington | President Joe Biden has delivered an impassioned plea to Congress to take action against gun violence, calling on legislators to restore a ban on the sale of assault-style weapons and high-capacity magazines after a string of mass shootings.
If members of Congress fail to act, Mr Biden warned in an address to the nation on Thursday night (Friday AEST), voters should use their “outrage” to turn gun violence into a central issue in November’s midterm elections.
