Washington | Australian exporters from IT providers to infrastructure and stadium builders could be hit if a long-standing $US1.7 trillion ($2.5 trillion) global government tendering pact that Canberra joined less than nine months ago falls victim to Donald Trump's growing war against the WTO.

First signed in 1979, the World Trade Organisation's government procurement agreement (or GPA) opens government contracts to greater international competition and helps spur global trade.
