Netanyahu on brink of return to power
Jerusalem | Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing alliance was set to win Israel’s fifth election in less than four years, exit polls suggested on Tuesday night (Wednesday AEDT), giving him a chance of returning to power at the helm of one of the most right-wing governments in Israeli history.
Three broadcasters’ exit polls indicated Mr Netanyahu’s party, Likud, finished first with 30 to 31 seats, while his wider right-wing bloc won 61 to 62 seats – enough to form a narrow majority in the 120-seat parliament.
