London | Hundreds have been killed in a strike on a Gaza hospital, provoking fierce and immediate international condemnation on the eve of US President Joe Biden’s visit to Israel on Wednesday.

Gazan health authorities said the explosion was caused by an Israeli airstrike but the Israel Defence Forces said it was a rocket, fired by a Palestinian armed group, that malfunctioned.
