Israel accused of ‘systemic failures’ over aid workers
Aid and religious groups are demanding the Albanese government impose sanctions against senior Israeli figures accused of “using starvation as a weapon of war”, as cabinet minister Ed Husic said aid worker Zomi Frankcom paid the price for Israel crossing the line.
In criticism of Israel that goes further than that from Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Foreign Minister Penny Wong, Mr Husic said the deaths of Ms Frankcom and six colleagues last week in an airstrike went to the heart of concerns that Israel failed to adhere to international law.
