Australia joins push to water down anti-Israel UN vote

Australia is working with a bloc of countries to soften a United Nations motion demanding Israel abandon its West Bank settlements, ahead of a fresh vote that again risks damaging Labor over domestic divisions on Palestine.
Amid the lobbying in New York, Palestine’s de facto ambassador in Australia pressed the Albanese government to back the resolution to help keep the two-state solution alive.
