Wigs down: Now Britain’s barristers join the picket line

London | Britain’s hot summer of simmering industrial strife took an unusual turn on Monday (Tuesday AEST), as England’s criminal-law barristers walked off the job.
After a week of turmoil on the railways, the nationwide unrest over below-inflation wage settlements has unsettled even the rarefied world of Chancery Lane – prompting the sight of wigged and gowned barristers picketing the courts, placards in hand.
