What exactly is the new missile that Russia fired at Ukraine?
Kyiv | A Russian intercontinental ballistic missile that Kyiv says was fired at the city of Dnipro on Thursday was an RS-26 Rubezh, Ukraine’s Ukrainska Pravda media outlet reported, citing anonymous sources.
In a televised address to the country, Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that US air defence systems would be powerless to stop the new missile. He said it flies at 10 times the speed of sound, was named the Oreshnik – Russian for hazelnut tree – and that it could be used to attack any Ukrainian ally whose missiles are used to attack Russia.
