London | UK Chancellor Rachel Reeves flew to China on Thursday night (Friday AEDT) in a bid to revive closer ties with the nation and boost Britain’s economy amid turmoil in UK bond markets.
Ms Reeves was criticised for being “missing in action” as she flew to Beijing for meetings with communist officials and businesses, leaving her deputy to face questions in parliament over surging borrowing costs and demands for spending cuts to restore Britain’s credibility.
