While Donald Trump and his entourage were berating Volodymyr Zelensky on live television at the weekend, Russian fighter pilots and missile operators began pounding Ukraine in one of the largest bombardments since Vladimir Putin launched his full-scale invasion three years ago.

According to a daily military signals intelligence report that collates data on incoming ordnance, on the evening of February 28 Russia fired 109 kamikaze strike drones and 81 KAB guided bombs into mostly civilian targets inside Ukraine.
