Welcome to day 16 – the final day – of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, where the Opals won bronze and two of our cyclists – both called Matthew – won a silver and bronze. But a pair of Japanese wrestlers topped the podium in their events, pushing Australia’s final standing in the medal tally to fourth. It’s a phenomenal result, but alas it falls just short of the Melbourne 1956 high-water mark.

And now – a look back at all our athletes have achieved these Games.
