London | Iconic and occasionally iconoclastic Australian singer-songwriter Nick Cave has revealed why he accepted an invitation to attend King Charles’ coronation, saying he had an “inexplicable emotional attachment to the royals”.
Mr Cave said he was neither a monarchist nor an ardent republican, but was drawn to an event that would encapsulate “the bizarre, the uncanny, the stupefyingly spectacular, the awe-inspiring” – one which “so perfectly reflects the unique weirdness of Britain”.
