Fixing broken Britain needs ‘tough decisions’, Starmer warns

London | Britain’s new prime minister Keir Starmer has warned of “tough decisions”, as his Labour government sets about tackling the slew of crises in the country’s creaking and cash-starved public sector.
Less than 24 hours after taking office, Sir Keir convened a Saturday meeting of his newly appointed cabinet. He later told the media that fixing Britain’s “broken” public services would take a long time.
