London | Elon Musk has added to strains in trans-Atlantic ties by calling for the European Union to be torn apart after the bloc fined his social media platform, X, €120 million ($210 million) for a series of digital rule breaches.
His tirade against the EU, which he described as a “bureaucratic monster”, came just days after US President Donald Trump unveiled a national security strategy that allied the White House with far-right nationalist and populist parties across the continent.
